About 10.764. A foot is exactly 0.3048 m, so 1 sq ft = 0.09290304 m² and 1 m² = 10.7639 sq ft. A 1,000 sq ft apartment is 92.9 m².
An acre is 43,560 sq ft = 4,046.86 m², or about 0.405 hectares. A square acre is about 63.6 m (208.7 ft) on each side, and 640 acres make one square mile.
A hectare is 10,000 m², a square 100 m on each side. It equals about 2.471 acres, and 100 hectares make one square kilometre.
In Norway land is measured in mål or decares (daa): 1 mål = 1,000 m², so 10 mål make a hectare. A 1-mål plot is about 0.247 acres, roughly a square of 31.6 × 31.6 m.
