PIN Code Generator

Generate random 4- to 12-digit PIN codes, skipping easy-to-guess patterns like 1234 and 1111.

Without repeats a PIN can be at most 10 digits long.

Skips PINs that are all one digit or a straight run up or down.

PINs are generated in your browser and never sent to a server. Avoid PINs based on birthdays or other personal dates.

About this tool

Create random numeric PINs for phones, cards, locks, alarm codes or door entry systems. Choose a length from 4 to 12 digits, optionally forbid repeated digits, and skip the weakest patterns: all the same digit (1111) and straight runs up or down (1234, 4321). PINs are generated securely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Each digit has 10 options, so a 4-digit PIN has 10⁴ = 10,000 combinations and a 6-digit PIN has 10⁶ = 1,000,000. With no repeated digits a 4-digit PIN has 10 × 9 × 8 × 7 = 5,040 combinations.

It skips PINs that are all one digit (0000, 1111 …), straight ascending runs (0123, 1234 … 6789) and straight descending runs (9876, 4321 … 3210). For 4 digits that removes 10 + 7 + 7 = 24 PINs, leaving 9,976. Runs do not wrap, so 7890 is allowed.

They are the first codes a thief tries. A DataGenetics analysis of about 3.4 million four-digit passwords found 1234 made up nearly 11%, 1111 over 6% and 0000 almost 2%, and the top 20 codes covered 26.83% of all PINs.

They are made with your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator and never leave your device. Avoid birthdays, years and other personal numbers, and never reuse a bank card PIN elsewhere.
