Coin Flip
Flip a virtual coin — heads or tails — once or up to 1,000 times with a running tally.
Each flip has an exact 50/50 chance and is independent of earlier flips.
About this tool
Toss a fair virtual coin to settle a decision, or flip many coins at once to see how heads and tails even out. Each flip has an exact 50/50 chance and uses your browser’s secure random number generator.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Each flip uses a cryptographically secure random number and has exactly a 50% chance of heads and 50% of tails, independent of previous flips.
Nearly. A 2023 study of 350,757 hand-tossed coins found a slight bias — about 50.8% — towards landing on the same side that started face up. A virtual coin has no such bias.
Randomness varies. With 100 flips, results between 40 and 60 heads are normal; the share gets closer to 50% the more coins you flip.
1 in 32 (0.5⁵ ≈ 3.1%). Ten heads in a row is 1 in 1,024.
