Brick Calculator

Work out how many bricks or concrete blocks you need for a wall, including openings and waste.

Total area of openings to subtract.

10 mm is standard.

5% for simple walls, 10% with many cuts.

For a single-skin (half-brick) wall. Double the count for a solid one-brick-thick wall, and buy all bricks from the same batch so the colour matches.

About this tool

Enter the wall length and height, subtract windows and doors, and choose your brick or block size. The calculator adds the mortar joint to each brick, works out how many fit in each square metre or square foot, and adds a waste allowance so you order enough.
