About this tool

Choose who the calendar is for and whether you want activities, small gifts or a mix, and get up to 24 ideas without repeats — one for each day from December 1 to Christmas Eve. 96 original ideas: activities like baking gingerbread biscuits or a torch walk in the dark, and small, inexpensive gifts that fit in a calendar pocket.

Frequently asked questions

Most have 24, one for each day from December 1 to December 24. The church season of Advent itself starts on the fourth Sunday before Christmas — in 2026 that is November 29 — but calendars almost always follow the dates in December.

96 original ideas: 24 activities and 24 small gifts for children, and 24 of each for a partner or another adult. Choose “Activities and small gifts” to draw from all 48 for that person; ideas never repeat within one calendar.

Write each activity on a note and put it in the pocket or box for that day. Check the list against your diary first: put the ones that take time, like a Christmas market or ice skating, on weekends, and quick ones, like a bedtime story or breakfast by candlelight, on busy weekdays. Swap any idea that does not fit by generating again.

There is no rule — set a total budget first and divide by the number of doors. A budget of 480 gives 20 per door for 24 doors. Mixing activities and gifts halves the cost, and many of the gift ideas, such as a love note, a voucher or a playlist, are free.
